Welcome to the website page of Northern Psychoanalytic Partnership (NPP).
We are a group of psychoanalytic practitioners who have come together to enable the further development of psychodynamic, psychoanalytic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis in the North of England and Scotland. We have a specific aim to support the development of such training in these geographical areas. Our role is to address the strategic issues required to develop training in the North of England and Scotland, and consequently to impact upon the delivery of psychoanalytically based clinical practice in the public and private sectors.
We act as a steering group with an aim of steering the strategic direction of training in this region, and collaborating with organisations to influence development.
We have a role as a consultation body and a reference group.
NPP also acts as a networking body that shares good practice, ideas and contacts in the promotion of training.
The group represents the following organisations:
Information for people interested in training
We can offer experienced people as contacts with whom potential trainees can discuss their individual situation in relation to training. The aim of these informal conversations is to engage with the enquirer, at whatever level of interest or knowledge of psychoanalytic theory and its applications, and help think how to develop their interest, and/or their clinical practice further. It is also an opportunity to give information about the range of events, courses and trainings available in the North of England, Scotland, and further afield. The conversation includes thinking sensitively together about the centrality of a personal psychotherapy in development of a psychotherapist or psychoanalyst.
If you would like the opportunity of an informal conversation, please contact:
